This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

November 14

Today's Reading: Psalm 75:1-10

Read the passage and answer these two questions:
  1. What doe this passage teach me about God and His attributes?
  2. How should that understanding about the nature of God impact the way that I live my life?

My observations from Psalm 73:
Here we see several attributes of God:
  • He sees and knows all. The wicked might think they are getting away with their sin, but they will ultimately face God's judgment.
  • He is patient. He doesn't immediately punish those who do wrong, which is a great thing for all of us!
  • He is near to those who seek Him. Sometimes I think we feel like God is playing "hide and seek" with us. But He delights in having fellowship with those who desire to enter into a relationship with Him.
  • We could probably summarize this Psalm by saying that God is enough. That is the thought expressed in verse 25, in particular.

The practical implication of this Psalm for me is to constantly be evaluating every area of my life to see if God is indeed enough or if I am pursuing other things that get in the way of my relationship with Him.
