This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

October 11

Today's Reading: Psalm 2:1-12

A.W. Tozer opens his book The Knowledge of the Holy, with these words:

What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.

I fully agree. And the only place we can develop a true concept of what God is really like is the Bible. So for the next several weeks, we're going to be reading through a selection of Psalms with one purpose - to see what we can learn about the nature and attributes of God. So we're going to take a little different approach to our Bible reading plan that we have so far this year. Each day, I encourage you to read the Psalm for the day and then answer these two questions:
  1. What doe this passage teach me about God and His attributes?
  2. How should that understanding about the nature of God impact the way that I live my life?

I'd encourage you to make some notes and then I'd love it if you'd also share what you're learning with others in our church family. If you're using the website to read the daily devotions, you can do that by clicking on the "Add Your Comment" button. If you're using the church app, just post in the Messaging tab in the Thornydale Family Church group.

The following day, I'll post some of my thoughts on the passage for the previous day. So that means tomorrow you can read my comments on Psalm 2. Questions? Feel free to email me at pastor@thornydalechurch.org.
