This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

October 5

Today's Reading: Ephesians 2:1-22

This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. Here Paul describes how Jesus made us alive when we were dead in our sins and could do nothing to make ourselves alive.

In addition, Jesus reconciled both Gentiles and Jews to God and to each other through HIs death and resurrection. This is essentially the same thing we read in Romans 11 a few days ago when Paul wrote about the Gentiles being "grafted in" to God's people.

That means none of us can take credit for our own salvation any more than a dead man can bring himself back to life. Take some time today to thank God for doing everything that is needed to be at peace with Him and with others.
